The design
Private clubs have gates, dues and a waiting list. The Tri-County Golf Club has 99 public courses and a passport you fill in as you play them. It is a joke about country club exclusivity and a real thing at the same time – membership is free, the list is public, and the only qualification is that you actually go play. The tee is the membership card you can wear.

Do I have to be a member to wear it? Membership is free and takes about a minute, so you may as well be. Sign up at the Golf Club page and you get the digital passport that tracks which of the 99 public courses you have played.
Which courses count? Ninety-nine public courses across Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties – the full list is on the Golf Club page. Public only, by design. The whole point is a club built out of courses anyone can book a tee time at.
Is Natural or White better for golf? Natural is the more popular of the two and hides a round better than White does. Both are light enough for a July tee time. The blank is a heavyweight 5.3 oz cotton, so it holds its shape through a full eighteen.
