The design

The crewneck is the version people end up wearing most – warm enough for a Michigan fall, flat enough to layer under a coat in winter, and with nothing covering the graphic. Same state design as the rest of the line, sized up onto a garment that gets worn from September through April here.

Questions about this sweatshirt

Crewneck or hoodie? The crewneck layers flat under a jacket and shows the full graphic. The hoodie is warmer, has a pocket, and runs about seven dollars more. If it is your outer layer most days, take the hoodie.

Does it shrink? Not meaningfully with cold water and a low-heat dry. High dryer heat is what shortens a cotton-blend fleece body and tightens the ribbing at the cuffs and waist, so keep it off the hot setting and the fit stays put.

Is it warm enough for a Michigan winter? On its own, into the forties. Below that most people wear it under a coat, where it works well because the crewneck collar does not bunch. For an outdoor layer in deep winter, the hoodie is the better pick.
