The Genuine Techno Tee is a Detroit techno t-shirt for people tired of watching the genre get credited to Berlin. Printed in Detroit on a unisex cotton blank, available in seven colorways and sizes S through 6XL.

The design

Techno was built here. Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson came out of Belleville in the early 1980s with records that reorganized dance music worldwide, and for forty years the city has watched other places collect the credit. “Genuine” is doing real work in that name. Wear it to Movement, wear it to a basement party, wear it anywhere somebody needs the reminder.

Questions about this tee

What size should I order? The blank runs true to size in a standard unisex cut, so order your normal t-shirt size. If you prefer a looser, more relaxed drape across the chest and shoulders, go up one size. We stock S through 6XL, and the fit stays consistent across the range.

Will the print crack or fade in the wash? No. This is a direct-to-garment print, which bonds ink into the fibers rather than laying a plastic film on top. Wash cold, inside out, and tumble dry low and it will outlast the shirt. Skip bleach and fabric softener, which break down any print over time.

Is this an officially licensed techno shirt? It is an original Tri-County Tees design. We are not affiliated with any label, artist or festival – this is our own tribute to the city that made the music. Every design in the Techno collection is drawn in-house.
